College Applications or Remote Auditions

Sometimes you will be auditioning some distance away from the musical’s venue. If you are applying to college or an internship program, it can also be far away. While it may be in your best interest to appear in person, it is generally acceptable in these circumstances to audition with a video. Be sure that the video quality is high and that the person filming you is well qualified. More videos these days are submitted as a download from a streaming service or website. Make the link clear and easy to find. Some institutions will also accept a hard copy application, resume, and DVD or flash drive. Keep in mind that if you receive interest and a callback, you should make every effort to appear in person.
